About Us
Our Story
SEDRA Foundation is a non-profit NGO providing a range of community services and consulting on all aspects of accessibility and inclusion for the public and private sectors. Our holistic, heart-mind nurturing, upskilling-for-life, and capacity-building programs aim to empower the People of Determination and their families across the UAE.
Besides, we have been working closely with almost all local government entities in Abu Dhabi and several federal ministries on disability rights awareness, technical assistance, inclusive services design, and guidance for the community. By helping organizations and companies reduce barriers and increase inclusive employment opportunities, we drive positive, sustainable change for SEDRA partners, beneficiaries, and society.
Guided by the inspiring leadership of our Founding Chairperson HH Sheikha Aljazia Bint Saif Al Nahyan, SEDRA has focused from its very inception in 2014 on fostering innovation, sharing best practices, and a people-centered approach.
All SEDRA programs and services are aligned in letter and spirit with the directives, goals and objectives stipulated in the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, Abu Dhabi POD Inclusion Strategy 2020-2024, UAE Centennial Plan 2071, and the UAE’s 10 Principles for the Next 50 Years, in addition to all pertinent UAE Federal and Local Laws, National Policy for the Empowerment of People of Determination 2017, as well as United Nations SDGs2030 and The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).
Our Mission
We work with individuals, families, corporations, organizations and the government to build a barrier free and equitable (fair) community in the UAE and beyond.
We design solutions with People of Determination and their families, not for them.
We are UAE’s experts in inclusion and accessibility. We are a proud Civil Society Organization. Since 2014.
